MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. — September 21, 2016 — After two years of development, and having passed the rigid testing required by the California State Fire Marshal (per Title 19, Section 1237.1; Original State, after 72 hours Leaching and after 100 hours Weathering) as well as long-term accelerated weathering, Polyfab USA LLC is proud to announce that our newly re-developed FR Comshade will soon be available from Polyfab distributors across the Americas.
Next Generation FR Additive
The original FR Comshade was developed by Polyfab Australia over 12 years ago, and was the first HDPE shadecloth to meet California State Fire Marshal requirements. Over the years, with mergers and acquisitions of the worldwide chemical industry, the original ingredients were discontinued. After a long search, we were able to find a “new generation” additive that is environmentally safe and less aggressive against the UV inhibitors. Because of this, we are able to offer a 10-year UV Performance Warranty. The product line will start with seven colors—Aquamarine, Cappuccino, Midnight Green, Porcelain, Sandstone, Silver and White. FR Comshade will be 8.25 oz. per sq. yd; 12-1/2 feet (150”) wide and put up on 33 yard rolls.

POLYTEX® — A 7 oz. per square yard superior fire rated knitted HDPE shade fabric designed for use in modular shade structures and shade sails. Recommended for residential and small commercial installations with unsupported spans of 25 feet or less. Available in 19 colors and meets the FR specifications of NFPA-701 and ASTM E-84.
COMTEX® — A 10 oz. per square yard superior fire rated knitted HDPE shade fabric designed for large tension membrane structures and architectural shade sails. Recommended for larger commercial installations or any job if preferred. Available in 17 colors and meets the FR specifications of NFPA-701 and ASTM E-84.
ARCHITEC 400® — A 12 oz. per square yard premium extra heavy duty knitted HDPE shade fabric designed for larger tension membrane structures and architectural shade sails. Shades using this fabric should be well designed and engineered to hold the fabric under the tension it deserves. The fabric should be supported by using appropriate strength poles and footings as determined by a professional engineer, and fabricated and installed by a qualified contractor in accordance with local building codes. Available in 12 colors and meets the FR specifications of ASTM E-84.
FR COMSHADE™ — A 8.25 oz. per square yard premium fire rated knitted HDPE shade fabric with a next generation FR additive, registered with the California State Fire Marshal #F-59002.
POLYFAB PRO™ SHADE SAIL HARDWARE — A full line of professional-grade stainless steel and other metal fittings for fabricating and installing shade sails, used by fabricators in Australia and the Americas for the finest look of their finished shade products.
POLYFAB SHADE SAIL EDGE WEBBING™: Made in Australia, this polyester webbing is 2” wide and put up on 109 yard rolls with a breaking strength of approximately 4,500 lbf. Available in 22 colors to match Polytex, Comtex and Architec 400 heavy duty shadecloth.
POLYFAB PRO™ SHADE SAIL CLEANER: A concentrated, environmentally safe, high-strength cleaner, designed to remove difficult soils from HDPE or vinyl fabrics with minimal effort.
